About the Pastoral Family

Pastor Noel & Tessa Colón
Lead Pastors, The Hub Church – Jersey City

Pastor Noel Colón serves as Lead Pastor of The Hub Church with a heart for authentic discipleship, community transformation, and Spirit-led leadership. Before stepping into this role, he served as Associate Pastor at Newark Community Church, where he provided oversight in pastoral care, teaching, and ministry development. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and currently serves as an Athletic Director with the Newark Board of Education, where he is deeply committed to empowering youth and building strong community relationships.

Tessa Colón brings years of ministry and educational experience to her role at The Hub Church. She has faithfully served in various capacities since 2004—including youth ministry, worship, Christian education, and leadership. Most recently, she served as the Church Administrator and Treasurer at Newark Community Church, where she played a vital role in ministry coordination and team development. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked as a preschool teacher for over 15 years in the Paterson and Weehawken school districts. In 2023, she launched a full-time catering business, combining her love for hospitality with her heart to serve others.

Together, Noel and Tessa have been married since 2006 and are the proud parents of Elijah and Savannah. As a family, they enjoy mentoring, gathering with others around good food, and creating spaces where people feel known, loved, and challenged to grow. They are excited to serve The Hub Church and the city of Jersey City in this new season, trusting God for greater impact and deeper community.

Core Beliefs

  • The Bible is God's holy Word.  It is inspired, true and trustworthy.  The Bible is God's written revelation of Himself to mankind and our ultimate guide in all matters of living.

  • There is one True God, creator of all things, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed physical miracles, died on the cross to make up for the sins of the world, rose from the dead in bodily form, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return in power and glory.

  • Men and women were created in the image of God. However, they willingly fell to sin-- ushering evil and death, both physically and spiritually, into the world.

  • Salvation is by grace through faith in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross; and that He died in our place. The believer’s sins are forgiven by the shedding of His blood.

  • The believer should continually be made holy through the blood of Jesus Christ, the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. A born-again heart will manifest Fruit of the Spirit, restitution where possible, obedience, and holy living according to the Word of God.

  • The Holy Spirit is presently and actively ministering through Spirit baptism, spiritual gifts, divine healing and miracles to effectively render service to God, His church, and the world.

  • The Church is a global spiritual body composed of all true believers in Jesus Christ of men and women of all peoples, nations, cultures, and languages.  Divinely empowered to proclaim the Good News of Jesus to the world.  The Church should engage in fellowship, prayer, bible study and special ordinances such as Water Baptism, Communion and the Washing of the Saints' Feet.  God has also called leaders within the Church to teach, equip, and guide believers into spiritual maturity.

  • Marriage is a sacred union, instituted by God, between a man and a woman for life. The biblical family is a father and mother in wedlock who may procreate children.  Family homes should be guided by love, discipline, and the Word of God. Strong healthy families produce a strong and healthy society- broken families produce broken societies.

  • The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as he promised.  Our eternal destination, of either Heaven or Hell, whether at death or during the Rapture, is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. God has promised to create a new Heaven and a new Earth where the glory of God will dwell forever.
