Welcome to The Hub Church’s 21 days of Prayer and Fasting
Thank you for joining us as we seek to encounter Christ together!
What is fasting? Fasting is the spiritual discipline of abstaining from eating and sometimes drinking in order to get closer to the Lord. This is a time of dedicated worship to the Lord. During this time you should focus on praying and reading the word of God.
Every week during the fast we will have a focus and scripture that will help us pray through the week’s theme but our overall goal is to seek his face in the intimacy of our time with him.
Welcome to The Hub Church’s 21 days of Prayer and Fasting
Week 1: January 5th -10th
OPEN DOORS: REACHING THOSE NEAR US
Focus: Pray for open doors of ministry in our neighborhoods and communities.
“Lord, open doors for us to reach those around us with Your love.”
This first week centers on interceding for those near us—family, neighbors, coworkers, and local communities. Believers are encouraged to ask God to open doors for ministry, meet spiritual and practical needs, and reveal opportunities to share the hope of Christ.
Suggested emphases:
Pray for your neighbors’ spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being.
Ask God to give the Church creativity and compassion to serve local needs.
Invite children and youth to help identify people or families who need prayer.
Week 2: January 11th-17th
OPEN HEARTS: SPEAKING GOD’S WORD WITH COMPASSION
Focus: Pray that God would open our hearts and mouths to share His Word boldly and lovingly.
“Lord, open our hearts and our mouths
to declare Your truth with compassion.”
Building on week one, this focus shifts inward, asking God to open our own hearts to see and feel as He does. Pray that we will be moved with compassion, courage, and conviction to speak God’s Word and testify of His goodness.
Suggested emphases:
Pray for renewed sensitivity to the needs of the lost.
Ask the Holy Spirit to remove fear or apathy in sharing the gospel.
Encourage next-generation leaders to lead prayers for boldness and witness.
Week 3: January 18th-25th
OPEN OPPORTUNITIES: ADVANCING THE MISSION
Focus: Pray for open opportunities for the gospel to go forth in power
“Lord, open opportunities for Your Word
to be proclaimed and received.”
The final week focuses on readiness and response, asking the Lord to create divine opportunities for evangelism and outreach, and to open hearts to receive the message. As the Church moves “On Mission,” prayer becomes action through service, testimony, and Spirit-empowered compassion.
Suggested emphases:
Pray for the Spirit to prepare hearts of those who will hear the gospel.
Seek God’s guidance for creative outreach and service.
Involve mature believers in praying for the global Church and unreached peoples.
